Andrew Klein, Master of Ceremonies

Andrew Klein is an event host with a difference. A former corporate lawyer, Andrew brings his casual yet corporate style to proceedings. His aim is to simultaneously entertain, inform, introduce, coordinate and communicate. Apart from introducing the sessions and speakers in a uniquely professional yet humorous, audience-friendly way, Andrew will bring a new creativity to the way the Congress runs, creating an atmosphere where learning is easier. Andrew Klein has over ten years of experience MC-ing and energising countless corporate and association conferences.

Tony Jones

One of the ABC's most experienced radio and television current affairs journalists, Tony Jones has reported for Four Corners, Foreign Correspondent, and other TV and radio current affairs programs. He has collected respected awards for reports such as "Horses for Courses" on the Waterhouse racing dynasty (Walkley), "My City of Sydney" on the city's development boom (Penguin), and "Frozen Asset" on the exploitation of Antarctica (Gold Medal, New York Film and Television Festival).

Dave is a key contributor to the Bank’s economics and markets research, speaking regularly with clients. He is a regular commentator on the economy and markets with the media. You may have heard him first thing in the morning providing a wrap up on overnight financial markets and the global economy on ABC News Radio, or seen him on Sky News, Sky Business, ABC TV, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, ABC TV, as well as with other TV, radio and the print media. He previously worked with Federal Government, including as a senior economic adviser in the then Prime Minister Bob Hawke’s Department and before that in the Federal Treasury in the 1980s.

Richard Dore
Director, The Proteus Leadership Centres

Richard joined the team at Proteus as the General Manager of Training in 1999 and with him bought a wealth of knowledge and experience from previous training and development roles – including his previous role in Aged Care. Today Richard is a company Director of The Proteus Leadership Centres, which has a Mantra to ‘Create Great Leaders’ and he continues to play a significant role in the growth and success of the organisation. Richard’s passion and areas of expertise are in leadership, culture and people development, whereby he assists organisations to create great workplaces, while destroying dysfunctional personalities and toxic workplaces! His workshops are always packed with practical solutions that when implemented will produce immediate results. Inspirational, hilarious, irreverent practical and relevant are just some of the words continually used to describe a session with Richard Dore.

Sally is a healthcare industry specialist, with over 25 years experience in executive and operational roles in the aged care and hospital sector. In Sally’s current role as Investment Manager –Aged Care at AMP Capital she is responsible for managing strategy, risk and governance, and executing ACIT investment strategies. Prior to joining AMPCI, Sally was Fund Manager (Social Infrastructure / Aged Care), Westpac Funds Management, and before that Healthcare Director, Asia Pacific, for the FTSE 30 Compass Group plc and a member of their global healthcare leadership team. Sally was invited as a member of the Ministers Advisory Group for the Long Term Reform of Aged Care Funding following the Hogan Review and received the 2002 Telstra Australian Corporate and Private Sector Business Women's Award. Sally commenced her career as a dietitian prior to moving into health services management, and has worked in the New Zealand, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Australian health systems. Sally is also Chairman of HOME Hospice, a social venture supporting carers of terminally ill people and actively involved in several initiatives to increase women’s representation in the executive and governance of the corporate sector. Sally has three adult children.

Craig James

Craig James is Chief Economist, Commonwealth Securities, interpreting ‘big picture’ economic and financial trends for customers, clients and staff. Previously Craig was Chief Economist at Colonial and has worked at the Australian Financial Review as a senior writer. With over 30 years experience in banking, finance and journalism, Craig holds both Bachelor and Masters degrees in Commerce (economics) from the University of NSW.

Chris Gray
Director, iCare Solutions Pty Ltd

Chris Gray is a founding shareholder and a director of iCare Solutions Pty Ltd which was established in 2002. Since May 2007, Chris has been involved in leading the business as Managing Director. Chris has strong innovation skills and is responsible for delivering iCare’s business and people strategy. Since joining iCare, Chris has overseen the continued growth in revenue and talent acquisitions, as well as the purchase of the RxRight Medication Management System and the electronic integration of GP records to produce Australia’s most complete aged care electronic health record.

Lee Thomas

Lee Thomas is the Federal Secretary of the Australian Nursing Federation, the third largest, and one of the fastest growing unions in Australia. Lee’s priority for the ANF is to ensure that it is one of the strongest industrial, political, professional and campaigning unions in Australia. Membership growth in the private and aged care sectors and increasing members’ power are paramount to the ANF and to Lee. Lee commenced nursing as a personal care attendant in aged care, and completed her General Nurse education at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and subsequently her Midwifery education at the Queen Victoria Hospital in 1987. Lee also holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a neonatology certificate, is a registered midwife, and is currently studying a law degree. Prior to taking on her current role Lee was ANF’s Assistant Federal Secretary and served as Branch Secretary of the Australian Nursing Federation (SA Branch) for eight years, where she focused on membership growth and enterprise bargaining across all sectors.

Julie McStay

Julie McStay is a partner at Hynes Lawyers and the head of the aged care and retirement living team. She has specialised for many years in providing corporate and commercial advice to aged care providers and retirement village operators. Julie has a Master of Laws with a major in health law and did most of her post graduate work on the legal issues surrounding adults and children with impaired capacity.

Scott Marinchek, The Aviiid

As the Managing Director of Aviiid Third-age Living Investment Management, Scott Marinchek believes that a radically different way of thinking is required to provide sustainable global Third-age living and well-being solutions for our ageing population. Aviiid’s institutional investors are literally building the nation their members and shareholders want to retire in. Scott held senior management positions at some of the world's best known finance and investment companies including Salomon Brothers, Citigroup, Zurich, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse on Wall Street and London before settling in Australia 15-years ago.

Arthur Sinodinos AO

Arthur Sinodinos AO is a former public servant, Prime Ministerial adviser and now Senior Adviser Business Banking and Private Wealth, National Australia Bank. He has a first class honours degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Newcastle and joined the Commonwealth Department of Finance in 1979. He then worked in the Treasury and for a short period in the late '80's in the office of the then Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. John Howard MP. He returned to Treasury in June 1989 and has worked on micro and macro issues, forecasting, foreign investment, labour markets and international finance and development. He rejoined John Howard's staff in March 1995 as senior economic adviser. He served in that capacity in the Prime minister's office until becoming chief of staff to the Prime Minister in 1997, a position he held until 2006. He has since worked in Goldman Sachs JB Were and NAB. He was awarded an AO in 2008 for services to the community and government.
