  • What place does aged care have in an ageing society?
  • Social care - right or entitlement?
  • Redefining work. Will you still want me when I'm 74?
  • Will technology change the nature of ageing?
  • Will nursing homes be necessary in the future?
  • De-regulation in aged care – what does it actually mean?

  • Who is entering facilities?
  • The increasing focus on 'high care' rather than 'low care': medical complications, social problems and mental health problems
  • Initiatives by state governments to keep residents out of acute facilities: draining of resources and costs of providing for basic care needs

  • The future of the media
  • The challenges of securing suitable qualified staff
  • How to build new facilities
  • Is 'person centered care' realistic in today's ever increasing ageing environment?
